All The Bright Places; A girl befriends a boy atop a school bell tower and the pair form a unique bond filled with life lessons.

‘All The Bright Places’ is based on a novel, written by Jennifer Niven, published in 2015. The novel follows Violet Markey and Theodore Finch – both suicidal teens – who meet at the top of a school bell tower. They begin to change each other’s lives and help each other recover from emotional and physical scars from their past. The novel takes on the stigmas of mental health and young love.

The actress playing Violet Markey (Elle Fanning) was the first to be announced and now author, Jennifer Nirven, took to Twitter yesterday (July 23rd) to announce our Theodore Finch. For months people have been creating a list of actors they would love to play Finch, for Jennifer to take with her to help the producers cast the role. Some of these actors included; Harry Styles, Cole Sprouse and Asa Butterfield. However, Jennifer has revealed that the actor who was offered the role, is not on the list at all and she couldn’t be happier with the decision.

Meet Finch. The brilliantly talented Justice Smith. The one who captured our hearts and brought Finch to life before my eyes. The first time I watched his audition I cried. And the second. And the third. And every time thereafter. He’s the one we’ve been waiting for I promise you pic.twitter.com/UejKydRhr4

Justice Smith’s previous movies include; Paper Towns (Radar), Every Day (Justin) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (Franklin Webb). His talents are shown immensely in every project he is in and as Jennifer has said herself ‘He’s the one we’ve been waiting for I promise you’ – we believe this to be 100% true and are so excited to see him bring Finch to life!

Liz Hannah will be penning the script and is also an executive producer, with Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan producing.

‘All The Bright Places’ is set to begin production this fall.
